Color

These beautiful batik fabrics are the result of a hand-dyeing process on 100% cotton fabrics by Marcel Padey, a Beninese artisan and multidisciplinary artist. Each fabric is carefully selected and dyed for hours in his workshop located a few kilometers from Cotonou. The fabrics are available in batches of 2.5 to 3 meters in length, offering ample material for your creative projects.

Each piece is carefully selected before being hand-waxed to preserve the desired patterns. A palette of vibrant hues is then applied, revealing unique patterns upon dewaxing. Finally, each fabric is washed multiple times to ensure durability and quality over time. Bring a touch of authenticity and beauty to your creative projects with Marcel Padey batik fabrics.

Interview

Batik fabrics can be washed with soap, while avoiding the use of strong detergents that can accelerate the fading of the patterns. It is also recommended to dry them in the shade, as prolonged exposure to the sun can alter their brightness.
